MPA Now Has a Property!

SECRETARYíS & TREASURERíS PAGE Located at a newly built 3 Two Square, No. 2, Jalan 19/1, Section 19, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, our recently acquired office or shop unit resides among many growing businesses in the neighborhood. Among which is Dr Yenís Mind Clinic standing just a block away. Others include busy restaurants, kiosks and shopping outlets. Equipped in the environment with lush landscaping and water feature, broadband‐ready for the entire development, 24‐hour CCTV and patrol officers and many more facilities, our office unit makes a good place as office or business. Priced at RM 660,000.00, the unit was bought at a reasonable price as a second‐hand property, according to MPA members with sufficient experience on buying properties. 3 Two Square is also strategically located within the bustling areas of Section 14, 19 and SEA Park. It has easy excess to other major areas of Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Klang, Shah Alam, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya via a network of major highways. Judging from the rate of growth of the existing businesses, we can be rest assured that our property has a promising future as an investment. The idea of buying a property was first mooted many years ago, during Dr. Chinís presidenthood in MPA. This came upon realizing the depreciating value of money unlike that of a property. Since then, the idea was deliberated further during the monthly committee as well as the biennial general meetings. The law constitution of the society was referred to in insuring the plan did not violate the constitution. The committee had ongoing exchange of ideas on the type of property, itís location, range of price and potential future use to the society. After a few months of intense comparison among the options, the purchase agreement was signed between the then president of MPA, Dr Yen Teck Hoe and the representative of the owner of the unit on 7th December 2009. Three figures who have contributed significantly to the society were named as trustees or legal caretakers of the property. They are Dr Yen Teck Hoe, Dr Chin Cheuk Ngen and Prof. Dr. Hussain Habil. After several months of necessary purchasing settlement, MPA finally received the key to our new property on 26th August 2010. At this moment, MPA's possible plans range from renting the whole or part of the unit out or making it MPAís formal office. With whatever plan that may come out, we can be proud of our new property that will remain a growing investment.
