International Bipolar Foundation

International Bipolar Foundation is a non-profit organization based in San Diego and we are present in over 60 countries. Our mission is threefold: to eliminate bipolar disorder through the advancement of research; to promote and enhance care and support services; and to erase associated stigma through public education. We are proud to offer the programs and services below free of charge to our global community.   • Research Partner Program: Research Partner Program offers donors the opportunity to personally select and sponsor scientists based on specific research aims, their affiliated institutions, or a combination thereof. Care & Support
  • Outreach & Referral: If you need a referral or feedback on a provider, we will send you the comments from our supporters
  • Ambassador Program: Ambassadors surpass barriers of stigma, help others with bipolar disorder (or other mental illnesses), and further the mission of educating the public and erasing stigma
  • International bloggers – over 30 international bloggers
  • Awards: HOPE Award is given to an individual or organization whose public efforts improve care, support and access to mental health treatment &/or champions to erase the stigma of mental illness and instills hope in families, communities and the nation. IMAGINE Award is given to a person who has bipolar disorder who sees beyond the illness and can imagine a future free of barriers, stigma, and discrimination. The recipient empowers others by sharing their story instilling hope and inspiration.

  • Healthy Living with Bipolar Disorder book – this book is available for FREE in PDF, hard copy or on Kindle. It has country-specific chapters and is translated into several languages
